To make it easier for anyone who still has otheros access on their PS3 to run boinc on Gentoo, I modified the ebuild to include the platform of 'powerpc64-ps3-linux-gnu' in addition to the default of 'powerpc64-unknown-linux-gnu' with the ps3 use flag. I submitted a feature request (bug report) to Gentoo's Bugzilla to hopefully get it added to portage. In the mean time, it can be used as standalone like I'm doing right now. So far, I've used it on the pSeries (which isn't a Playstation) and am currently using it on the Playstation.
