Just finished getting both apps to 5k hours so it's good timing for me. With people scrambling for hours and badges the remaining work may not last a year.

Not even. I think zombie67 is making a run at it that may drain the queue faster than anticipated. :)

Got my 5 year badge and over 33k hours on it. That's enough for me.

That's pretty good, squeezing 5 years out of 33k hours [emoji12]

Slower threads can be a wonderful thing...IF you're running WCG.

I have this one computer on which VBox screwed up somehow in the installation. I have no idea why, but it seems to think that I have 8 cores/16 threads on a standard i7-950. It's really inefficient to run it with 16 threads, but hours are hours...

I really meant Owning slower threads, not creating them....but whatever works. :))

I decided to go for the FAAH 5 Year badge... I should make it as long as they keep issuing work through tomorrow. I suppose if the work dries up, I can slow my i7 rigs down to the lowest muliplier.. make 'em last ;)

I guess a little <ncpus> gaming won't hurt my chances, either

Last night they posted that the batches are going slower than expected, and with resends there should be work for the next few weeks. Not sure how steady it will be, though.

I picked up a 5 Year badge, so I'm sending the rest of my cache back to the server for those needier than I.

This day in history....it looks like the FA@H sever is now out of work. *GASP* All those needing more work units, keep your fingers crossed and hold your breath. I have a ton in my cache but not 70 days worth I don't think.

What badge are you going after

What badge are you going after

I personally was going after the 180 day badge. With Mumps help I gained about 20 days before the well ran dry. I have a day left in my main.....my set and forget is empty and Mumps with his 200 cores is empty too. Yes, it's all over except for the final tally. The site is currently showing me with 135 days. Have quite a few pending and like I said, I have about a day to go in my main. Will I make up that last45 days I need?? Probably will be short.

You could use ThrottleStop or Intel Extreme Tuning utility to set your CPU multiplier down very low - the work units you have will take much longer.

E-30
06-14-15, 03:30 PM
Or go in your bios and set it to 1 on the multipier

My bios only allows me to go to 6. But I'm so under-clocked now, if 1.2GHz isn't slow enough, it won't do any good. LOL Ram is also under-clocked and going to give this the best try I can.

There will also be re-issues. Make sure you don't fill up your queue with other junk. You want BOINC to stay hungry and keep asking.

My set and forget is now working on ugm. My main is only working on this and so will my c2q as soon as it finds an end to these Asteroids. I'll probably put the set and forget back on the "waiting" for any recycled work to come in.
