Man!!! What a sweet friggin MB. I just hope Intel releases an Gen2 i7 sans the integrated video. I hate the idea of paying for features I don't want nor use.

WOW! You just found the MB for my next build. Saved me a lot of searching. :-bd The MB in my main rig is a MSI Big Bang Fuzion and I love it. Its an overclocking dream. For people who would like to OC but don't know how get one of MSI's Big Bang Boards. With the push of one button the MB will do the OC for you. For those who like to do their own OC'ing these boards have all the features. They are very high quality MB's.

Wow, that is one serious board. You would have to have some out of this world cooling in the box to keep the GPU's humming though.

Cooling? My question is how do you power that without tripping a breaker?

Multiple power supplies with extension cords running to different parts of the house?

I posted this thread almost 1.5 months ago. During that time, i've sweated Newegg, TigerDirect and eBay in search of this board for sale by anyone anywhere. I've read reviews about this board until i was blue in the face. But finally, today, I get the following email from MSI:

Dear John,

Thank you for your interest in MSI Computer.

MSI just received shipment in for the motherboard. You should be able to purchase through Newegg sometime next week. Thank you for your patience.

Best Regards,

Holy Toledo, Batman! I think I just looked at the best GPU crunching mobo on the planet! :x

I hope they make one of those for the upcoming AMD Bulldozer series...:D

Meh, read the fine print. It's bandwidth limited. The EVGA SR-2 board I posted about months ago would stomp this board into the dust.

8 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots - PCI_E1 supports up to PCIE x16 speed (when PCI_E3 is empty) - PCI_E2 supports up to PCIE x1 speed - PCI_E3 supports up to PCIE x8 speed - PCI_E4 supports up to PCIE x1 speed - PCI_E5 supports up to PCIE x16 speed (when PCI_E7 is empty)

PCI-Ex16 8
PCI-E Gen Gen2 (2x16, 2x8, 4x1)
^ That's 52 PCIe lanes.

I've also heard most BIOS won't enumerate 8 GPUs properly anyways.

http://www.evga.com/articles/00537/
^ This, on the other hand, will run all 7 slots at x8 (56 PCIe lanes), AND dual Xeon procs ta boot. :P

Looks nice, but with double width cards, you'll only get 4 slots filled. Also, I'm finding more cards are starting to take 3 slots.

And finnaly, I'll never buy MSI again. I RMA'd the P55-65 boards I bought 3 times. The first literally lit on fire while watching a move. The second wouldn't post and the third caused BSOD's every couple of days.

Wonder how it would hold up to a PG Race?

Will it fix into a Mid-Tower or would you need a Full-Tower? How big of a PSU would this thing need.... (that is just to run the MB!)

Where is the spec at for this bad boy?

Its an XL ATX motherboard so you would need a full tower like the HAF-X. (Edit) Full specs are here. (http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Big-Bang-Marshal--B3-.html#/?div=Detail)

@JPM: When are you going to place your order?

iono yet. either when i get my tax refund or a check from schmuck's insurance company for wrecking my truck. Whichever comes first. I'll have to pick up some DDR3 for it since all i have atm is DDR2. And a CPU. Something that ends with a 'K' :p And probably a PSU or 3...

@JerWA: bandwidth? lol x1 is at least 3x more bandwidth than you even need to crunch with :) I'm not much of a gamer so it works fine for me. And the cost of the 2 Xeon's i would actually be happy with is just too much for me right now.
