Guys,

Have a doubt.
Why my 64-bit windows machine is running a 32-bit application (14e one) under NFS@Home. Where can I set on settings to only receive 64-bit applications from NFS@Home Boinc project?

Thank you in advance,

Carlos

PS(Awaiting for NFS admin reply)

You should be able to do it in the cc_config.xml file by adding this line inside the <options> section.

<no_alt_platform>1 </no_alt_platform>

Is this a content example of that file?

<cc_config>
<options>
<no_alt_platform>1</no_alt_platform>
</options>
</cc_config>

Didn't work out.
Well, it should, but you may need to reboot and reset or detach from the project. At that point it should only download the 64bit executables.

Detached the project, and nothing.
Re-installed BOINC, and nothing.
Now I can't download wu's because I reached daily limit.

lol

cc_config.xml file should be saved as ANSI. Think I got it to work although I've downloaded a few wu's.

Yes, never save it as a .txt file, boinc will disregard it.

It was not the extension of the file but the format of the xml file. You should not open it with standard notepad and save it.

Anyway, if somebody wants to join the 14e fun, we have a lot of queued work to be processed. There's a list of 61 composites from HCN project (Homogeneous Cunningham) to sieve which will give an estimate number of 750k wus!!!! Moved 8 cores to 14e application to run for some badges.

I'm always on NFS, so I am with you on those 14's. :)

The ONLY thing I use to modify my .xml files for BOINC is NOTEPAD.

Didn't work out for myself.

Yes, i use only notepad or wordpad to edit .xml files. But you have to be sure you save the file as plain text, with the .xml suffix, and not .txt.

Also, be sure you you set explorer to always show file extensions. You may think you saved it as "app_config.xml", but it REALLY saved as "app_info.xml.txt". But you can't see the .txt suffix because explorer is hiding it.

I'm slowly moving along the 14e stats with full 10 cores only pausing 4 cores on weekends to post-process integers to help the project keep up the pace with sieving.
Lots of jobs are coming from here: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/ucgi/~twomack/homcun.pl. Goal is to clean that list, 9k wus per number.
