    <div style="text-align: left;"><strong>Description:</strong> The ABC conjecture involves abc-triples: positive integers a,b,c such that a+b=c, a &lt; b &lt; c, a,b,c have no common divisors and c &gt; rad(abc), the so-called radical of abc. The ABC conjecture says that there are only finitely many a,b,c such that log(c)/log(rad(abc)) &gt; h for any real h &gt; 1. The ABC conjecture is currently one of the greatest open problems in mathematics. If it is proven to be true, a lot of other open problems can be answered directly from it. The project is run by the Mathematical Institute of Leiden University in Germany</div><br>

    Description: BURP aims to develop a publicly distributed system for rendering 3D animations.

    Description: Chess960 is a young innovative chess variant. In Chess960, just before the start of every game, the initial configuration of the chess pieces is determined randomly, that means that the king, the queen, the rook, the bishop and the knight are not necessarily placed on the same home squares as in classical chess. Since a few years there are World Championsships taking place in "Chess Classic Mainz" event in August every year. GM Peter Svidler is the current Champion.In this project we try to combine Chess960 and the idea of distributed computing. With the BOINC software framework from the University of Berkeley exists a platform we want to use in this project to perform these computing intensive tasks. With it we want to give this chess variant some basics in theory of this game. We know the fascination of this chess variant is the incredible amount of variations. That will not change with this project but some guidelines seems to be useful in each starting position.

    Description: Collatz Conjecture is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do research in mathematics, specifically testing the Collatz Conjecture also known as 3x+1 or HOTPO (half or triple plus one). You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.

    Collatz Conjecture is based in Wood Dale, Illinois, USA and continues the work of the previous 3x+1@home BOINC project which ended in 2008. It can run on an nVidia GPU, ATI GPU, or CPU.
