PrimeGrid: World Peace Day Challenge
Any help is appreciated.

- 10 days
- SOB (CPU-only, and the longest tasks of the sub-projects)
- This is LLR2, so HT/SMT just hurts production. So just use real cores. Also, AVX-512 really helps.
- Each task uses 32mb of cache. Unless your CPU has 64mb+ of cache, you want to just run a single MT task using all the real cores.
And yes, you can run these tasks on The Science Cloud. If you do, select the 12-core w/ AVX-512, running a single task per instance.
Re: PrimeGrid: World Peace Day Challenge
I've got 3 running, but I'm awfully light on cache so don't expect much...or anything until day 3 or 4.
Re: PrimeGrid: World Peace Day Challenge
I'm trying 1 wu on each of my two machines that might have enough cache.
Maybe the estimates might mean something by this time tomorrow.

Hope so because at this point it's the world against Z. You're doing good Z!
Re: PrimeGrid: World Peace Day Challenge
Most computers will need 1.5-2 days per task. So production from others, even with many machines, won't show up for a while longer.
I think I look good so far, just be cause I have a couple machines with 7950X, which are just crazy fast at this and have returned 4 tasks earlier than most other machines. AVX-512 and 32mb of cache for each of the two CCDs. So once the big crunchers with more but slower machines start to return tasks, I will end up dropping down a bit.
