Donate@Home: Project update
So, as confirmed one month ago we have now stopped doing crunching with gpus for bitcoins because at this time is not useful anymore (See ASICs).Most likely we will keep using donate@home as an alpha test project for gpugrid. We are a bit short of people these days, so it is likely to happen in September.A couple of things we would like to test.1) A cpu application that we had since long ago2) A gpu application for ati cards which is based on another code base than the one on gpugrid. We will be unlikely to be able to guarantee the same level of service for this, but this is why it is in another project. If the applications will be mature enough, they might be moved to gpugrid in a second stage. For donations. We now rely on you guys to make a donation and support the project via the standard donation page or via the amazon affiliate programme. The final amount of funds raised from d@H will be posted as soon as we receive the last transfer from mtgox. Stay tuned for September.gdf

Re: Donate@Home: Project update
ahhh man, I just learned of Donates@Home's end. I was out at their site getting ready to rejoin. I was going to hit donate hard at the first part of next year, dang it.
Re: Donate@Home: Project update
yea it sucks, I guess I will not be getting my goal there either. guess I should be happy I got what I have but I really needed it to be in my 250 M collection.
Re: Donate@Home: Project update
It only seems fitting. I constantly had problems with donate crashing machines. I guess it is only fitting that it now move to beta apps which will be equally flaky. :-)
Re: Donate@Home: Project update
If I read this right, there will be ati beta work. Is the name going to change also?
