Beer! Glad to see you on the boards!

I had a look at the top 60 computers on Primegrid. Some of them use AMD CPUs, but none of them are Ryzens. Shouldn't be too long before someone tries one out and we can see the results.

    I did find this though:
    Ryzen 7 1800X @stock - Built-in BOINC CPU Benchmarks: 4536 FP MIPS, 15295 Integer MIPS

    Ryzen 7 1700 @3.9GHz - Built-in BOINC CPU Benchmarks: 4755 FP MIPS, 16497 integer MIPS

    Ryzen 7 1700 @3.6GHz - Built-in BOINC CPU Benchmarks: 4351 FP MIPS, 13611 Integer MIPS

Thanks. I will lurk around myself. First I have to come up with some sort of lame excuse to build a computer though. These days we have 2 lappys, which cover our needs just fine......

From the reviews I have read, the 8-core version looks very competitive with the intel 8-core chip. And way way cheaper. The only thing that looks concerning is the number of PICe lanes. Don't plan on running GPUs in more than two PCIe slots.

Yeah, AMD got a winner again. Finally. Things are looking better for the competition in the x86 CPU front!
