    Heck. That's way more complex than I want.

    Minute rice: Mix equal parts rice and boiling water. Salt & butter to taste.

    Basmati (white) rice: Boil 1/2 cup in as much water as you want and drain and rinse.

    And the Basmati *always* turns out more tasty than the Minute Rice.

    (I did Minute rice all the time until my sister just told me that Brown Basmati would have the lowest glycemic index which should be better for my wife. So I grabbed a package of Tilda pure Basmati white rice and love it.)
