The Good: Strong on-screen chemistry between Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand. They're a believable and relatable mother and son.

The Bad: It's not big on laughs, but it's still amusing.

The Bottom Line: The Guilt Trip is a sweet and charming road trip movie. Plus points for not trying to out-raunch other comedies like most comedies nowadays. I don't know what people have against Rogen, but he usually does good work, and this is yet another decent film from him. All in all, it's not a bad movie to watch.

    My Rating: ★★★★★★

The Good: I tried jotting down notes in my mind while watching the film, but there was just too much awesomeness going on, I lost track. Just go see the damn movie. Everyone, just go.

The Bad: No mere mortal could've possibly made this film because it's fucking perfect. The Raid 2 is a perfect action flick.

The Bottom Line: The Raid possessed a simple yet ingenious concept, but it lacked variation. Leaving the confines of a single building has done wonders for Gareth Evans' breakout franchise. The flaws of Redemption have been addressed in Berandal. The characterization, the cinematography, and most notably the story have all been shored up. There's even some dark comedy thrown in for good measure. Things feel grander, the stakes are higher, and the hits hit harder. Yes, even the action has been upped a notch or two (or three—it gets really fucking violent). This sequel makes the original look like weak shit for pussies. Yup, you read that right. It's better than the original (and arguably better than pussy). If you loved the first one, prepare to have your mind blown. The Raid 2 is The Godfather of action movies. Like a Picasso piece painted with blood. Lots and lots of blood. Now, go forth and bask in its glorious beauty. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
