Hmm using a whole lot of CPU on the 5970 & The New Box.

Here is the problem. I added the 5970 to my gaming box for now and this is what the times look like.

Task Show names Work unit Sent Time reported or deadline Status Run time(sec) CPU time(sec) Credit Application

    4918674 4057929 30 Nov 2011 | 2:44:35 UTC 1 Dec 2011 | 0:17:34 UTC Completed and validated 1,265.64 1,265.64 6,528.00 Distributed.net Client v1.02 (ati14)

Here is the New Box with the gpu, MD ATI Radeon HD 2300/2400/3200 (RV610) (368MB) driver: 1.4.1457

What do you think? Why so much CPU?
I have only 6 threads running as I have the 5970 and a 5870 in the same box should I free up another thread?
Could I get away with the 5970 and a GTX 570 in the same box if the box has only a AMD x2 BE processor or will I choke the gpu's?

Is this Moo you are talking about? If so, the faster the GPU, the more CPU is needed to keep up. With my dual 5870 + i7 920 (OC), I need to reserve two threads (1 whole core). Anything less, and my task run times climb.

Yeah, sorry, it's Moo. I'll leave three thread and see what happens. Thanks Z..

Did you run the Moo benchmarking to discern which program core Moo should use?

That should be done too, to maximize credits. But the need for allocation of CPU doesn't change with the "core" (aka app) selection.

Hmmm, OK. I thought the proper Moo "Core" (not to be confused with CPU core) improved CPU efficiency, thereby reducing the percentage of CPU resource allocation?

The better the core speed, the better the load on the GPU, and the greater the need for CPU to keep up.

Ok, How do i do this? I know there was a whole post on this and it seemed a bit difficult but I'll give it a try. I'll try it tomorrow on my cruncher.
