Albert@Home: New BRP application released: v1.22 (CPU, CUDA, OpenCL)

Discussion of the new app release takes place over in this thread. Notes: * OpenCL GPU memory requirements reduced by 128 MB (to ~360 MB) * Dropped support for OpenCL 1.0 GPUs (in favor of the above, OpenCL 1.0 only GPUs like the Radeon 4xxx are too slow anyway) * More graceful OpenCL memory error handling * Known issue: the Mac OS X OpenCL app might return invalid/empty results * CUDA apps are enabled again for the time being * Input data download volume (per work unit) can be reduced by a factor of two (soon) * Please use the latest Catalyst driver (>=12.1) and BOINC client (>=7.0.12). Cheers, Oliver

Been trying to get some tasks here, but nothing so far. Anyone else not able to get work? The server status shows work available.

It is an interesting question. I am getting work on some machines and others report: "Not requesting or reporting work". Go figure as these machines are identical and are all running BOINC Version 7.0.18. I love new versions. Than again, this is an Alpha release version, yet needed by some projects to use. Nice to see just how many bugs one can find, how many new unannounced additions you can find and how many announced way of doing things no longer work. I think I prefer MS's way of a new version. Change the name of something, don't change anything in the code and tell everybody that they need to buy this new version as the old one is no longer supported.

Yeah, I have tasks for all three (ATI, nvidia, CPU). They just turned back on nvidia with this latest app release.

Ugh. Starting to get tired of this. I know this is beta, but still. I can't get work on my boinc 7 pc for albert or poem. I've tried suspending everything, changing the dcf and playing with the cache. Nothing. Just the same old 'got 0 new tasks' message. I can get Moo! just fine.

Is BOINC asking for tasks? Maybe it's just not asking?
