    NativeBoinc for Android

Has anyone tried this. Since I'm bored I loaded it on my phone and am running theSkynet pogs and wuprop.

Edit: interesting tech. Mostly just wanted to see it work and both wus completed and validated. How 'bout that.

How long did the Pogs WU take to finish?

Are you all talking about this?

Seriously though, what is the goal? Even if the processors are fast enough to make it worthwhile, the battery would be spent in minutes. I guess it would make sense for non-CPU tasks. But what would those be? quake apps are out. Maybe net-ping or spider apps? but then you run into usage issues over cellular. So I am back to, what's the point?

Anywhere from 6200 sec to 25000 sec. The longer ones seem to be when I run 2 wus at a time.

I think that one is just the manager, this one is the client...

There are also statistics on that page.

You're right, it would kill a battery, that's why it only crunches when plugged in, like when it's on the charger overnight. Unplug it and it suspends. The option to use the battery is there but you'd be nuts to use it. Mine is also set to only upload/download while connected to my wireless network.

As for the point, I'll leave that to be debated by you tech folks. I just like innovation and I wanted to see if it worked. It does and it doesn't make me give up anything, so why not?

Bryan, Here's a little more to go on. It certainly won't be a rac raiser. I imagine it does create a lot of wear and tear on the phone. It works, but I'm gonna uninstall and use my phone for what was intended.

Yeh, I was just curious. On a couple of the project forums people have been pushing for ARM apps. It doesn't make any sense to me but as they say, to each their own.

I just downloaded it 25 minutes ago. Giving it a go with a MW & WUprop going at the moment. We as a team currently have 0.00 NativeBOINC RAC. I am going to work on that.

2 year old HTC Thunderbolt. About to upgrade to the HTC DNA which is supposedly a Quad core.
