Memory problem - time to RMA

FireDragon has been crashing a lot lately and windbg look at the dmp file indicated memory. Memtest86 confirmed memory problem and I isolated it down to the G.Skill RipJaws module causing the trouble. Looks like there is a lifetime guarantee so time to start the RMA process.

Glad you got it narrowed down to that, sometimes it's hard to diagnose the problem but you're Johnny on the spot. And that warranty sounds nice!

Now the pain is going to be sending the memory in for warranty. They recommend sending in the 4 memory modules together to get replaced, they were a Quad Channel Kit. Which of course means I would end up with my main system dead (no backup memory for Fire). I am considering buying 8 MB of memory to run on until the 16MG kit is replaced.

Don't spend money. I am sure we have some DIMMs around.

Unfortunately, I already gave away all my regular DDR3 DIMMs. I still have ~50gb of SO DIMMs, but you won't be able to use those.

Too late. I thought I had spares, but I think I gave them away also. Decided it was easier to just order new mem with the same speed and CAS latency and not worry about it.
