Debian Linux

Found only instructions for Ubuntu in the Forum. Is there a great difference to Debian ?
Since Steam would run on Debian I think its a good idea to use this one.
Have I to face more troubles with Boinc when I use it ?,- or, is it to difficult for a linux noob at all ?
I plan to use it with my 4770k and a 7950 or 660GTX, whatever fits better for the projects.

At this point, I would probably choose Debian over Ubuntu. I don't recall having many problems with Debian when I was using it. The only reason I switched to Ubuntu at the time was because that's the Linux that Dell was shipping with. I hear Mepis is really good. It's a Debian offshoot also.

That may be what I meant. I don't see too much outside of Gentoo these days.

Hmmm.-. I want Debian because its the base for the new Steam Machines and I thought it would be nice to play some Games written in Linux.
If its no problem for Boinc Ill give it a try. Thanks for the other ideas, keep them in mind.
Its for my 7th box and the current 6 have all Windows 7 or 8, enough money spent for Microsoft.

You didnt ask me but I will try Olivia connected with Raring Ubuntu but most of the choices are from Maya version from Precise Ubuntu and you Z67 what is your preference?
