Although this was obviously a joke, I remember some people getting in trouble at SXSW in Austin years ago by giving hobos 4G access points and allowing them to collect "donations" for access.

"Hi, I'm Clarence, a 4G hot spot (not a human being!)." It was pretty damn funny, if for no other reason than to see how clueless some marketers/promoters can be. So far as I know no hobos were harmed in the making of this marketing stunt.
