PrimeGrid: Another MEGA Prime Found
On 28 March 2014 21:32:37 UTC, PrimeGrid’s Mega Prime Search, through PRPNet, found the Mega Prime: 51*2^3490971+1The prime is 1,050,889 digits long and enters Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database ranked 69th overall.The discovery was made by Stefan Larsson (288larsson) of Sweden using an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4930K CPU @ 3.40GHz with 16GB RAM running Microsoft Windows 8.1. This computer took just over 1 hour 13 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR. Stefan is a member of the Sicturadastra team.For more details, please see the official announcement.
