Re: What are you listening to?
There is something about the vibe of this I cannot get out of my head. And that's a good thing.
Hozier - Jackie And Wilson
"Jackie And Wilson"
So tired trying to see from behind the red in my eyes,
No better version of me I could pretend to be tonight.
So deep in this swill with the most familiar of swine
For reasons wretched and divine.
She blows outta nowhere, roman candle of the wild
Laughing away through my feeble disguise
No other version of me I would rather be tonight.
And, Lord, she found me just in time
'Cause with my mid-youth crisis all said and done
I need to be youthfully felt 'cause, God, I never felt young
She's gonna save me,
Call me "baby, "
Run her hands through my hair
She'll know me crazy,
Soothe me daily
Better yet she wouldn't care
We'll steal her Lexus,
Be detectives,
Ride round picking up clues
We'll name our children
Jackie and Wilson,
Raise 'em on rhythm and blues.
Lord, it be great to find a place we could escape sometime
Me and my Isis growing black irises in the sunshine
Every version of me dead and buried in the yard outside.
Sit back and watch the world go by.
Happy to lie back watch it burn and rust
We tried the world, good God, it wasn't for us.
She's gonna save me,
Call me "baby, "
Run her hands through my hair
She'll know me crazy,
Soothe me daily
Better yet she wouldn't care
We'll steal her Lexus,
Be detectives,
Ride round picking up clues
We'll name our children
Jackie and Wilson,
Raise 'em on rhythm and blues.
Cut clean from the dream at night let my mind reset
Looking up from the cigarette, and she's already left
I start digging up the yard of what's left of me and our little vignette
For whatever poor soul is coming next
She's gonna save me,
Call me "baby, "
Run her hands through my hair
She'll know me crazy,
Soothe me daily
Better yet she wouldn't care
We'll steal her Lexus,
Be detectives,
Ride round picking up clues
We'll name our children
Jackie and Wilson,
Raise 'em on rhythm and blues.

Re: What are you listening to?
Slayer- 'Angel of Death' at the Big 4concert - Live at Sofia, Bulgaria
The "Grandfather of the double bass drums"..
If you know what that is, it goes on during several parts of the song,
if you don't...
Look at 4:42 to see what it is.
It's been copied by many bands since the early 80's
and not very many drummers do it very well like he does.

Re: What are you listening to?
My mother was a music teacher.
That meant I was required to play a musical instrument.
I broke off a portion of a front tooth in the third grade.
The break went into the gum.
After having it capped I was told I couldn't play any musical instrument that used the mouth for fear of putting pressure on the tooth and killing it.
It was the drums in the band or the violin in the orchestra.
That is how I started my musical life as a drummer.
Here is what I listen to.
Godsmack - Batalla De Los Tambores

Re: What are you listening to?
Nice Ron !
Those double sets live are so kool.
Godsmack is a really good band.
Slayer ? I was never a fan of this band.
But they do a few songs that are really unique for what they did.
The speed they played at was their main thing.
The fact that they have been touring now for 30 years is amazing !
They rolled close by here last year.
