    Re: Lunatics v8 application

So i just got around to installing this on a couple machines. On one machine I'm running a 7970 and intel hd4000, on the 2nd machine a 270x. For the 7970 I saw run times cut in half but credit is only about a third, way less credit production than default. HD4000 seems to run about the same as default, maybe slightly faster, same payout. 270x is similar to the 7970, run times are shorter but the credit cut is bigger than the run time delta. I believe the said they were focusing on "precision and accuracy" this round but I didn't have issues with the default apps, I'm going back after my credit/pendings stabilize to compare.

@MindCrime - did you get a chance to make any comparison?

    Re: Lunatics v8 application

I've been running a 270x 24/7 for a while on seti with the default app. I took the average of my last 20 valid WUs and came up with what should come out to 8685 credit per day. Seems like it's paying me about .1 credit per second. I just reinstalled lunatics and I'll holler back when I've got 20 of it to compare with. The default app I'm getting with these numbers is listed as:

    SETI@home v8 v8.19 (opencl_ati5_cat132)
    windows_intelx86

This seems to line up with my initial observations when I first switched to the lunatics app. That's a big difference for a projet that pays relatively low. I'm going back to default on the 270x, I'll run another test on a 750ti

CPU usage is rather high for both apps but seemed to be lower for the lunatics app. I ran the SoG app because I thought it would be the most commonly run and highest credit per day, should I try again with a cuda app?

So far it looks like ATI cards produce more credit on the default seti app, and my 750ti is barely better on the Lunatics SoG app, I might need to run that test again with a bigger sample.
