    Win10 Home vs. Pro?

With XP and even Win7, there were reasons to get the Pro version, that helped crunching. But with Win10, I am not so sure any more. The only pro feature that seems like a maybe, is the Remote Desktop. Bu I don’t use that. And I seem to recall it messes up GPU crunching anyway.

The difference in cost for the OEM version is $110 vs. $140.

    Thoughts?

I believe the pro version allows for dual CPU setups and Home does not. Other than that i can't think of any reason to use Pro.

    Ah! That was it. Thanks.

You needed Pro to see a second socket. I just googled around for a bit. Lots of people responding to the question WRT win 10 Home, with mixed opinions. But I can’t find anything official from Microsoft saying that is still true for win10.

Has anyone tried win 10 home on a dual socket machine, first hand?

I think there is a difference in the Updates as well. IIRC on Pro you can set it to delay updates (up to 30 days) but I don't think that option is available on the Home version.
