Einstein: Launching Fermi-LAT Gamma Ray Pulsar Search

We are launching a new Einstein@Home application, which searches data from the Fermi Large Area Telescope (Fermi-LAT) for millisecond (or slower) gamma-ray pulsars. The Fermi Satellite was launched in mid-2008 and has already discovered a number of new gamma-ray pulsars.Questions, comments and problem reports about the new search and application should be placed onto this message board thread.Bruce AllenDirector, Einstein@Home

One more way to make an astronomical discovery from the comfort of your own home and without the need for that pesky and expensive PhD. This project is simply one of the best applications of distributed computing out there. Outstanding.

I agree. It is the best run project out there with actual tangible results already. NOW...who do we talk to over there that will raise their credit output per WU so we can crunch this??? It would not be a hard thing for them to do...
