Yeh, Im Trying to get Boinc running again after acoupole years away.. nothing working with latest boinc..
Are you able to get work from any project?
I think I will hijack this thread. I have 2 GPU cards that boinc doesn't see any more. a few days ago they were both working. one is a 1050ti and the other is a XFX R7800 Ghost. I know getting on the old side but. any way GPUZ can see them but boinc can't. any help would be welcome.
Looking in the BOINC log, you don't see something like this for your GPUs?
17-Oct-2023 12:49:08 [---] CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (driver version 536.23, CUDA version 12.2, compute capability 6.1, 8192MB, 8192MB available, 8876 GFLOPS peak)
17-Oct-2023 12:49:08 [---] OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (driver version 536.23, device version OpenCL 3.0 CUDA, 8192MB, 8192MB available, 8876 GFLOPS peak)
If not, does MSI afterburner shoe the 1050Ti and does the AMD software, whatever it is these days, see the XFX R7800?
Maybe windows messed up the drivers? Try reinstalling.
What Z said. A windows update or something else may have caused default drivers to get installed which don't support CUDA or OpenCL. GPUZ would still see them but Boinc is looking for CUDA and OpenCL devices and if the correct drivers aren't installed, those APIs aren't available
I had the new drivers saved on my HD and I have reinstalled them but I didn't download the drivers again. i will go look to see if there is a new version.
ok I have them both running now, the problem was that I had downloaded windows updates but hadn't installed them, as soon as I installed the updates boinc saw the cards and they started running. I didn't know a downloaded windows update could affect Boinc. as you can tell I don't get in a hurry to update windows.
