FWIW, here are my prime tallies. For SGS, 3 out of 30k. So yeah, it looks like 1 out of 10k is "normal".

I was even really bad at the AP26 subproject when it was around. Never found anything more than AP22, and I ran up over 1M credits there. I think my role on PG is to eliminate the non-primes so that other people can find them. I'm the mythical Maxwell Sieve.
