On 9 August 2017, 00:27:22 UTC, PrimeGrid’s PPS Mega Prime Search project found the Mega Prime:999*2^3418885+1 (http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=123830)The prime is 1,029,190 digits long and will enter Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database (http://primes.utm.edu/primes) ranked 198th overall. The discovery was made by Randall Scalise (Randall J. Scalise (http://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=8634)) of the United States using an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30GHz with 8GB RAM, running Linux. This computer took about 1 hour 20 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR. The prime was verified on 9 August 2017, 04:07:04 UTC by Eric Eskam (Doc No (http://www.primegrid.com/show_user.php?userid=33689)) of the United States using an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad Q6600 CPU @ 2.40GHz with 3GB RAM, running Microsoft Windows 10 Professional Edition. This computer took about 5 hours 2 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR.
