Don't bother w/ latest AMD 11.3 drivers for 5870

Just to save anyone the time and hassle, I just lost 1/2 hour of crunching to try the latest AMD 11.3 drivers they just put on the site yesterday. I was hoping it would fix whatever bug in 11.2 doesn't allow my 5870 to crunch DNETC. No dice. The new 11.3 drivers even make it hang on MW.
What's odd, is that the 11.2 drivers worked great on the 4870, but not for crunching on the 5870.

So...it's back to 10.12 drivers for my 5870 rig, and hope this little post here can save someone else the wasted effort.:p

I've been running MW with the new drivers for 4-5 hours now on one of my rigs. No problems at all here.

Hmmm...that's good to know, maybe it is some conflict with my specific mobo (AMD 890FX chipset) and card (5870). All I know is that 11.2 drivers made DNETC hang, but MW as stable. So I backed off to 10.12 and both run great.
11.3 drivers make DNETC hang and MW crunches a few WUs...then hangs. I only messed with it for 1/2 hour - nothing I did seemed to make much difference.
So I backed off to 10.12 again.

Interestingly enough, Kat's rig w/ 4870 is working perfect on 11.2 drivers, so...with your report in, maybe it's just my rig that has the problems?:confused:

My desktop does not like anything past CAT 10.10. Must be some "Under The Hood" issues that are contributing to the varied results.

I'm with you. I could never get anything later than 10.10 stable and happy and loving on my Silver Hammer.

Running 11.3 (Win7 x64) here on a 5870. Ran DNETC for a day without a hitch (now the project is down and I've got 100k credits in waiting to upload). Collatz, on the other hand, seems to be causing occasional screen blanking, like a VPU crash. But, no corrupted work and no VPU crash dialog, so I dunno what it's doing.

There is a problem with 11.2, 5870 and DNET? I'm running DNET fine on my 5870 with 11.2. Even runs over clocked :confused:
