View Full Version : Google issues and attempted upgrade
So I did delete the 3 threads, then I tried to upgrade to 4.2.5.
But the upgrade gives an error, something to do with the blog which is disabled. It left the forum unusable. I restored, then uninstalled the blog, tried again, similar issues, restored again.
Redeleted the 3 threads for now.
Not sure where to go from here to be honest.

FWIW, Safari is flagging this site as trouble too.
When I use IE, malwarebytes does block the site completely.
Norton's is as happy as flies on stink.

I'm getting this too on my end. Would it help if we pitched in for a signed SSL certificate?

Don't remove, Edit instead maybe
Afterwards try uninstalling the blog without any disablement
Not at all sure of this but maybe one thing is disrupting the other

Don't need to pay for SSL certificates any more.

I don't think an SSL certificate would help in this case anyway. Google think some of those threads contain bad links and have manually applied this to the domain until taken care of.
I've deleted the threads and requested a review, but not had a response since.

I haven't been on the forum in 5 days.
Edge and IE 11 won't display the site when Avast Web Shield is active.
I had to turn it off to see what was happening.
It claims the site is infected with something called URL:MAL.
Probably not a name but a general message that it doesn't like the site and won't display it.

At this point I'm not sure what can be done. I can plead with Google, but I doubt that's going to have an affect. I'm kind of wondering if they are doing this all over??
Here is the most recent review failure where they are pointing to other threads now.

I've requested yet another review and pleaded with Google to help us understand just what they consider to be malicious. I mean, one of the links they show is an rss feed from enigmaathome, how can they possibly think that is malicious??
hmm, perhaps a clue..
https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/www.setiusa.us thinks it has malware. I'm trying to check.
Good find Bok. Funny how it's complaining about setiusa.us, but not FreeDC. Good luck on getting it cleaned.
I bet if you started running Google Ads then the problem would disappear =))
I already switched them off... I've gone through and followed tons of instructions for removing stuff today, Most often it's code injected in templates within styles so I've been deleting a lot of styles and reverting the main one.
Problem is that it's blacklisted so most of the browsers go by that. I have no idea if it really is still infected somehow
Every time I login I fill out the Google form that says there is nothing wrong with this site and then submit. I doubt that they give a rat's what users think =))
I just got a note back from Google saying they have reviewed and accepted that there are no issues, hopefully the blacklist will lift in the next few hours.
I'll have to reinstall a couple of plug ins like tapatalk tomorrow.
EDIT, this is Bok, posting as the admin user :)

Working now for me! :D
Yes, Firefox is now happy here also!
So, does that also lead to a successful upgrade?

Working on Waterfox as well. Hope nothing was seriously wrong.
Working on Chrome now, though I have lost my admin privileges.
though I have lost my admin privileges.
Does that mean I can whatever I want and you can't get even? =))

You haven't, but one of the recommended changes was to remove the link to the admin and mod panels and change their locations. I will PM you how to get in..
