View Full Version : Mysterious Missing Xeon
I just remoted in to one of my dual X5650 Xeon machines, the VM had failed so I was troubleshooting. Turns out, one of the Xeons is missing on the VM
Windows device manager shows 24 cpus. VM software is saying I have too many CPUs in my settings. Any ideas?

In CPU-Z, you have to use the menu at the bottom to select the 2nd CPU.
Yeah, that was my bad. Problem still exists but it's all in the VM. I'm updating OP now.

vbox always scolds me when I try to go above the number of physical cores, which is always. Tells me I have an invalid configuration. I ignore it, and it all works just fine.

Thanks. It kept failing on startup until I backed down to 12 cpus. Then after a shutdown I was able to go back up to 22. I guess I just panicked
