Mostly Seti and World community grid projects. no real favorites at this time. Just enjoy the contribution that I can do.

Great! I also enjoy the feeling of contributing what I can to the projects.

Many of us have favorite projects we crunch.
If you ever want to venture into the many other projects available, feel free to ask questions.

I have been reading through forums, and attempting different OS's unbuntu, server, regular windows, I am attempting to get as much out of my existing hardware as possible, but don't feel like the numbers are there, any advice?

Linux is better for some projects, just as windows is better for others, it really depends on the hardware and the chosen projects you want to run, ideally you can dual boot both OS's or just use virtualbox for the 2nd. If you tell us a little more a out what projects you want to run and some basic hardware info we can offer some better advice.
