A proposal has just been put forward to build one of the Advanced LIGO detectors in Western Australia. Locating one of these detectors in Australia would have a tremendous scientific impact: it would enable more detections and improve our ability to identify exactly where gravitational-wave signals are coming from. For more information, or to ask questions or post comments, please see this Science Message Board note (http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/forum_thread.php?id=8851&sort=6) from Stan Whitcomb, the Director of LIGO-Australia. If you are interested in the details, the note includes a pointer to the full written proposal, which can be downloaded from the Internet. Bruce Allen Director, Einstein@Home

I'd like to make a proposal that Einstein "scientifically" evaluate their credits. Then, when this new LIGO is installed, they will have many more crunchers ready and willing to sift the data!:p
