I think the best GPU with no external power connection is the GeForce GTX 1650. Quite a jump from the old GT 1030 we have had to live with for a while. But did you know there is a low profile version of the GeForce GTX 1650? Double width, so keep that in mind.

Also keep an eye on the 1650 Super which just launched. There may be some versions fitting this criteria

Yeah, that will come in really handy on several projects.

Lol oops...didn't realize i posted that here. Wrong thread. Oh, well, i guess it got seen anyway :p
BTW, those and the 3950X on Nov. 25th, which just happens to be the same day Intel launches their HEDT lineup.
since it requires a new MB, I'll have to pass on this one. Will see how much the 64c/128t cost then go from there. Not excited about this launch because of the extra cost for the new MB.
There is always to 48t VO :D
I can't afford to have anymore machines. One more and I'll be sleeping in the dog house for real this time lmao.
After the WCG birthday race, I'll sell off some of my machines. V3s, V4s, TR gen1 ... etc ... to make room. And I'll go for the kill, not gonna messing around with low core counts any more :)
Actually I meant the 48c not thread :D I could live with that but of course the 64c would be even better.

Do we think that the GTX 1650 Gaming card will be supported by the nvidia drivers for a while? The GTX-650's still work great, but nvidia just left them behind. Also, I need to update them to install Zoom on my Linux system. (Yes, I know zoom is insecure)
My church is starting to use zoom for church services. I'd rather do it on my secure computer than on a mass produced phone that I can't modify the hosts file on.

Yeah 1650 should have support for several years yet. If you haven't bought it yet, keep an eye out on whether it comes with GDDR6 or 5.

Let me post some 'alternative' Top GPUs. (as I have found them)
The fastest Nvidia GPU you do not need additional power plugs for is a GTX 1650.
The fastest Nvidia GPU that fits in a Dual Slot Low Profile case is also a GTX 1650
The fastest Nvidia GPU that fits in a Single Slot is a GTX 1070
The fastest Nvidia GPU that fits in a Single Slot Low Profile case is a GT 1030
The fastest Nvidia GPU that is fanless is a GTX 1650
The fastest AMD GPU you do not need additional power plugs for is a RX 560.
The fastest AMD GPU that fits in a Dual Slot Low Profile case is also a RX 560
The fastest AMD GPU that fits in a Single Slot is a RX 550
The fastest AMD GPU that fits in a Single Slot Low Profile case is a R7 240
The fastest AMD GPU that is fanless is a RX 460
Those of you with big beefy cases with big beefy power supplies can ignore these cards!

I don't know if GDDR6 vs. GDDR5 matters to me at the moment. I'm still on PCI-e 2.
I did buy it already. It is now installed. I'll test it whenever my computer decides to turn on. The power button quit working.
So, is it the power button, the motherboard or the PSU? It's a very high quality PSU, so I doubt it's the problem. The motherboard is really old, but it works well enough when it's on. So far, the computer does always turn back on, so I really doubt it's the button. I went to sleep one night and in the morning it was running. My money is on the board. Might be time to upgrade finally.
