FWIW, there are 3xxx Nvidia cards now in stock and available on Newegg. Prices are still insane, but at least you can buy them now.
When (if?) the prices eventually come down to MSRP levels, are they considerably better performance / watt than the 1xxx or 2xxx gen cards? Unfortunately due to my location, that appears to be my main concern going forward.
