New Zen3 CPUs w/ more L3 cache?

I just read something about new Zen3 CPUs coming out with more L3 cache - enough of a bump to make a difference in something like crunching where we use all cores full bore.
Anyone know about when they might hit the market?

Well, Zen3 already has more cache available per chiplet. It used to be 16mb per every 4 cores. Zen3 has 32mb per 8 cores. This allows you to run a task that needs up to 32mb without having to go to RAM. Very handy with some of the PG tasks that have large FFTs. Is that what you mean?

There has been rumors of Zen3+, but I think that is just moving to a smaller fab process, if it ever happens. As far as I know, the only change to something like cache would be with Zen4.

Looks like going into production at the end of this year.

"Su said that the company will be ready to start production with its "highest-end products" with 3D chiplets at the end of the year." I think that means their Epyc (server) CPUs? Hard to tell.

Ah, bummer if that's it. I thought it meant the higher end "regular stuff", like Ryzen 9 5950X or 5900X. You're probably right. :(

I would guess that super-large cache would be most helpful for servers, so they would start there. Just a guess.

Well, notice it dos mention the Ryzen 9 in the article itself...

AMD CEO Lisa Su also showed a prototype Ryzen 9 5900X chip that the company already has up and running
So maybe DrPop has the right hopes. :)
