ok to make a long story short I @#$% up and destroyed a computer system. it was on a del t550 workstation with a duel boot. I don't have a clue how to fix that system so I got a new hard drive and installed win 7 pro which is what was on it to start with. got windows installed and installed chrome. down loaded boinc and started to install it. i get this message "this installation package is not supported by this processor type. contact your product vender." I have never seen this before, any ideas of what this means. thanks for any help.

I haven't seen that message before.

The Boinc Community Boards have this answer.

"This message appears if you try to install the 64-bit version of BOINC on a machine running the 32-bit version of Windows 7."

No need to change hard drives.
The bit version of BOINC just needs to match the bit version of Windows.

If you installed a 32-bit version of Windows 7, then you need a 32-bit version of BOINC manager.
Visa versa, if you installed a 64-bit version of Windows 7, you need a 64-bit version of BOINC manager.

BOINC may have had you download a 64-bit version of BOINC manager on their "Install BOINC" page.
If your new Windows 7 Pro install was 32-bit, then that is the problem.

You may either want to reinstall a 64-bit version of Windows or you can select the 32-bit version of BOINC for Windows here:
