ok, so on a fresh reboot yesterday I hadnt crunched in a while, by this morning my WU finish time had gone from 12 min or so upto 20 min, and my GPU's were saying they were running 100% but their heat was way down.

fresh reboot and boom back upto 12 min and heat back to normal levels.

I shut my cpu tasks down and going to let it run today for a bit maybe something with the cpu not feeding it fast enough with 6 WCG tasks going as well.. *shrug*..

Anyone seeing similar?

I did however update to the latest nvidia drivers the other day.. hrm wonder if that has anything to do with it.

No problems with my 570. But then again I haven't rebooted in a while and I don't have the latest driver either.

got an answer on the PG forums, looks like the new drivers are throttling the cards as a "protection" feature which seems stupid if I want to run 24/7.

They gave me a few ideas to try so hopefully ill get back up to speed soon

i am running 270.61 with no slow-down

gtx260-216, 896MB, OC'd to max stable at core clock 679, shader 1476, memory 999

been running this speed for the last 4 or 5 releases

temp runs 58-60 C at 65-75% fan (using EVGA precision v2.0.2 to control fan)

I'm running the latest Nividia 270.61 on my GTX 580. After installing the driver it would go into Power saving mode and run less than have of the factory clock. I had to go into advance power saving options under PCI Express and set Link State Power management off. I then had to reboot. After this no more slowing down.

Never mind! I was gone all week and was happy when I came home my clock speeds hadn't dropped down. I just overclocked the GPU and got the slow down again. Went back to the 266 version of the drivers.

I haven't experience any slowdowns yet on my GTX. Running Prime in just under 7 mins. Dumb question. Have you tried defraging HD's. Could be disk access time is slowing you down. What are your clocks on the card? My 570 is running 800 1600 2000

Did you check your power settings in the 3D driver settings? I should be set to 'power mode' instead of 'adaptive'. If set to 'power mode' the driver will fall back to higher clocks if you got a computing error. So also check if you had a PG WU erroring out.

I had this ever since starting OC with that card. And, the protection mode does make sense - there seems to be a complete armada of burned 570s out there.

PS: I am using a Gigabyte OC and they still recommend 263.x for the card. Either they are slow or see issues with many new drivers. Not totally sure about that.
