Hurricane Helene - is Al and everyone alright?

Hi guys, been a while since I logged in. Al usually keeps me up to date and texts me when there’s a Sprint to throw my rig on.
I haven’t heard from him in a bit. Anyone know how close that hurricane got to his place in NC?
Hope he and everyone else in that area on here is OK!

Which doesn't bode well based on the timing of Helene. Hopefully it's connectivity struggles rather than anything more concerning.

Hopes and prayers for all that have been impacted.

Just got a text back from Al! He says they are alright in Chapel Hill, with some local flooding. But the mountains got hit hard, towns wiped out and roads gone. Sounds like major devastation! I’m glad he’s in a good place though. Hope anyone else that was a member here is making it through. We’re sure thinking of you all back East!

Thanks for the concern. We came through it fine. Bok lost ip services for 5 days. The people living in the NC mountains are in tough shape, though there a lot of resources coming to bear, with more every day.

Good to hear from you Jed. Yea I texted Al from down under (I'm in Australia for a year) when I heard the news and then saw the site down but glad he's OK.

haven't been here for a while either, glad to hear things are ok with you and yours Al. sounds like there are plenty of places that didn't far very well though
