with today's figures. Also I have an initial badge for every PG projuct, except
whatever the TPS Combined LLR is.

I am doing about 13K daily on a single quad core system.
9.2, 6.9, 13.8, 13.8 in the past four days.

Plus doing some other stuff on a dula core 32-bit laptop.
My AMD64 died a few days ago and my P4 server is semi-dead.

Been running BOINC, but had a bad spill and use a wheeled chair once and a while.
Been using a wheeled walker for over a year now, though.

I just "love" that this board makes me look like a new member to SETI.USA.
Been typing stuff since July 2009, but it seems that with a new host and new
board system, I now am a newbie again.

I sure wish Santa would bring me a newer, better, laptop to replace the dead one.
Did a lot of BOINC processing with that one. Was the best cruncher till I got the
Quad core desktop. How about a GPU card, Santa? Fixed income blues is a bear
for keeping my system[s] running or making them better.

Well at least I am now over 2.5 mill and hope to be at 3 mill sometime in Feb '11.
Very little of that figure was from a GPU setup, so it did it the hard way.

I see all these million level projects. I am now over 800K with PG and hope to have my first million project in Feb 2011. 100% of which is CPU based and 2K - 15K per day. I may not have many machines running like others, but I am crunching as much as possible.

BOINCstats tell me sometime around Jan 22 2011 I will reach my first million project and about a week after that I may reach 3 million overall for credits with 95% of which was done with CPU only crunching. With Feb 2010 being when I bought my quad core machine and July 2009 [only 1,400+ credits] when I joined SETI.USA.

The graph shows my progression beyond 2.6 million credits.

Is LLR now paying better than the Sieve for PPS?

my mistake. PPS Sieve - like the Challenge. My mind remembered seeing that the LLR was the faster of the two, much faster, so my mind just reversed it.

Since I started to work more of the WUs of the last challenge at the beginning days of the month, I started to get more and more credits out of PG than I was getting before.

My question now is, with a AMD 9650 quad at 2.3 GHz [max] what would be the best project and/or sup-project to run once I make my first million with PG? I have not bought yet a GPU, since my GT220 died after a few months of hard work. So it has to be a CPU project that gives good overall credits and gives good daily credits a well. I do not want to suddenly see my daily go downhill too far, but if I get a good average between 2 days worth of work, that is fine. I do not want to run a 3 day crunch and have to then wait weeks and weeks to see the results. I need to keep my RAC in a good number and somehow keep my dialy numbers from falling too far when one or more WUs need long periods to get someone to check over my work. It would be great if I was diong all the checking, so I will get credited in the next day's batch, but that is not probable.

So Right Now, most of my work on the Quad is PPS Sieve with whatever else PG throws in, like PPS LLR, 321, TRP, and CW. I also have WUProp running and Pirates! whenever I get any of the last batch of work.

I have no problem going back to other projects, and want to do some like POEM and Rosetta, as well as others. I just want to keep my dialy above 5K or 7K. For the past 11 days, I have had 10 of them above 10K and months ago it would have been a rare thing to be above 8K running 3 more cores than I am now. I want to keep running 10K+ for a daily average if possible.

Well, on Sunday,
I hit my 3 million mark for all my projects combined.

Then I had a near fatal crash of my only desktop.
All my saved emails and a lot of other data got lost
during the crash, including my vial email backups and
alike on my data partition. Even some of the data that
was on my USB drive got messed with since it was in
use during the crash.

Well 3 million credits, and rebuilding my computer. I have
PG attached as my only project so far. The really big loss
is all of the emails that were kept for references. OH WELL.
Win one, loose more sometimes.

At least after I finish rebuilding the desktop, I will have another
100 gig partition that was what was left of the Ubuntu's OS
after the crash, while the new install took the rest of the 420 gig
of that part of the drive.

I'm a little confused :-/ Ubuntu can be easily installed in a 5GB partition. Add another 2GB for the swap partition for a total of 7GB. And if you create separate partitions for the OS and your data, you are less likely to lose your data if the OS partition takes a dive.

For a 500GB HDD I would recommend the following: *(Note #1)
Partition #1: Swap - 2GB
Partition #2: / (a.k.a. Root) for the actual OS install - 10GB
Partition #3: /home (For user saved docs, pics, videos, etc.) - 200GB *(Note #2)
Partition #4: /Backup (The place to store all the backups) - (whatever is left) approx. 288GB

* Note #2: I personally create all 4 partitions as Primary Partitions.

Well, I grouped all of the partitions needed together when stating 1 partition for the OS.
I have a 1TB drive
500 gig is my default data partition that does not contain any of the OS partitions.
The rest went to the OS partition[s] defaulted when installing.
When I crashed, I had to keep as much as I could of the old OS as I could to try
to recover the data. There is a "slider" that allows you to use a auto system to
regroup the partitions so you can have as much as you can for the new OS
without overwriting the old OS. I was able to use the slider to reduce the old
OS disk space to a little over 100 gig and the rest was divided up into the needed
disk space for the new OS partitions.

Linux is a little different than windows, which allows this auto partitioning so I can
try to recover any of the data from the old install.

I now default my setup with an OS partition grouping and one or more data partitions
that will not be harmed [best case] if the OS crashes and requires a complete reinstall.
I learned the hard way once. This time, I lost some stuff due to the crash was during
the backup of data to the data sections so that needed backup got messed badly.
