Got Pop's computer built, now I have his old box (q6600) crunching away(loudly).Looking at getting some MM's, and I don't know much about the Radeon cards. Read the sticky, but not sure about the bang for the buck. I guess my question is -- is the 6970 really worth ~$100 more than the 6950? Do any of ya know the credit difference between the two on any given project.. like MilkyWay or Moo?
Thanks

No - not worth it. You're looking at only a few k/day more. Plus, you can overclock the 6950...
IMHO MW is very unstable right now. If you do get an ATI card, put it on MOO or DNETC for best credits. Just my opinion.

Personally, I would advocate a Nvidia card, but that's a separate issue...
I actually think having one of each is best, but my GTX 580 gives me the most points(~700,000 a day). My two 5870's are second with about 600,000 a day. If I was to build from scratch one box would have 580 and the other 5970, and both would be water cooled. Then I'd add on additional cards.

Got Pops' new rig running a GTX 570(just for Boinc) with a 9500GT for him to use so he doesn't see any hiccups. Taking his old box, putting in a decent PSU and GPU, decided on a 6950 so's I can get some o'dem ATI MM's easier. Then building my new rig(current box has a 460), likely with another GTX 570 in it, or maybe I should catch the insanity fever and drop one of those 590's in it :D

All my ATIs are running Dnet. They fall back on Collatz if necessary. I'll agree with joker in that MW is unstable, but they've always been that way.
