No idea what these are about.

Ah my learned friend, I suggest you pop over to the Free-DC Forum http://www.free-dc.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?64-STATS-Bugs-or-Feature-Requests and search around in there it tells you what Maxwells and Clanks are... :D

"Maxwells" are how many times per day you can dis someone, and "Clanks" are what happens when the Knights that Say Ni adjust their armor. :D Just kidding. I have no idea what they are for either! =:) (But, I have a feeling it is something for the MM crowd in general.) :-"

Its no more then proof that SETI.USA is the best team in the world.

"Clanks" are counted the number of a particular sound emanated from a toilet.
"Maxwells" are counted as the number of times a very constipated person has sat on said toilet. =))=))=))=))=))

Well in the short time I've been with MM I've learned one very important thing. We do our job soooooo well that we have time to confuse the rest of you. Upon implementing this though we found out it was too damn easy to confuse the rest of you, thus confusing us. 8-}:(([-X:-bd Clanks are the number of projects you work in a month.

Wow... I like the suggestions for Maxwells better than what a Maxwell actually is...

But, a Maxwell is a count of how many Mega Milestone categories that you have at least half of the top producer in that category. For example, Mumps (will have) 29 2.5M MMs. If you have at least 15 2.5M projects, you get +1 Maxwell. Sum across all MM categories, and you have your score. ;)

Errrr, mmmmmm......... Maybe the Joindate ranking? Say a rank of 20 or better?

That works lol.

Or most project top 100's b-)

I'm not one of "their" guys........this pup is a Renegade :p

P.S......To have a category bearing my name would be an honour and a privilege :D

Just a personal observation here......

Since Free-DC has Boks, maybe the next "Special Stat" should be christened Gophers???

Ok, well if seemingly everyone is gonna get some sort of recognition, how about some , "YO's", or "Dudes"? They could be counted as the numbers of days a person has consecutively earned one MegaDay combined credit status for everyday they do so. If they drop below MegaDay status, then the counter is reset to zero and they start over. :)

I was thinking more along the lines of rank of 1 on join date.

Although, we should probably get SG, Sic and AF in on the action to be fair. We could call this one a Stevie.

Number one for join date.....ooh think I have some of them ;)

So what do we need to improve our standings here? What projects haven't we crunched in the last month that the others have?

A clank is, essentially, what we in the outside world would call a robot. Clanks vary widely in form, function, intelligence, and complexity, though there appear to be some limits.

I'm pretty sure that's it.

Answer is shorter than the link. :)
Basically #projects where you have put in some credits in the last 28 days.

29th on the team in Clanks. :)

ACK! No wonder I'm so lousy at this game!

And I am so good.;)

A lot of small credits rate. Yes is to small crunchers. I would say of the million crunchers Boinc has 90% are small crunchers.

It is good to have something to the small CPU guys.

Not to take anything away from Maxwells and Clanks, but a stat I'd like to see is active users and active hosts per project. My definition of active would be those whose credit has increased within the last 7 days. Can't go by RAC due to projects that are offline which means the RAC doesn't ever get updated (e.g. I still have a RAC of 52 in Cels@home). Then you could also measure how many users a project gained or lost in the last X days as well.

I've actually got this mostly up and running on the test stats site, though it's based on activity in the last 28 days. Aqua Stats (http://stats5.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=proj&proj=aqu) for example where I list it at the top. I can easily tweak the algorithm a little.

28 days seems high, but then again, I haven't crunched the stats at all to see what the distribution is. If a project had known durations for the WUs, one could use that as part of the calculation (e.g. a one hour per WU project might be set to several days whereas a two week per WU project may need a month or more for a WU to be returned). I don't know that the average turnaround time would suffice though.
