Out of stock video cards!

About 2 weeks ago I purchased an AMD 6970 video card so that I could crunch Moo! I purchased it from Tigerdirect.com because it was sold out at Newegg. About 5 days later I received an email stating that the card was out of stock. Ugh. Even though I was a bit ticked off that it took them 5 days to notify me, I let it go and waited...and waited... It is still out of stock!


About 1 week ago I ordered an EVGA GTX 590 to go with my other 590. I ordered from Amazon.com because Newegg.com was out of stock and I had some gift credits. That has yet to ship as well.

This was pretty much my boinc budget allotment for the year.

It appears that 5970s and 590s are pretty much out of stock.

Anyone know what is going on? I've read rumors of AMD 7000 series cards coming soon, but nothing solid.

If this is the case, should I cancel my orders and wait to see if the prices drop?

Thanks you for the links! I'll check them out. I'm pretty set on getting the asus 6970 due to its cooling setup. If I find one i'll be cancelling my tigerdirect order.

Finally got sick of waiting for my asus directcu II 6970 to be in stock from Tigerdirect.com and cancelled my order. The Tigerdirect guy on the phone was not professional at all and acted like I was bothering him or taking up his time. I'll never try to buy from them again.

Purchased an HIS IceQ 6970 from Amazon and it's already shipped. :)

Congrats on the new card! And yeah - Tiger Direct isn't exactly on list of "best companies" in the world...but sometimes they do have a deal or two. I was able to get my 1100T cpu from them on a weekend special $30 cheaper than anywhere else. But yeah - good thinking going with Amazon! :)
