You might try clicking the smiley icons next to the composition window.. They seem to work ok here...

Thanks, guys. She tried clicking a smiley that's on the "more" list, and it added the text for the smiley, but it didn't show up as a picture on the preview - just as the text.
She asked me, and I just said "ask for help!", so, looks like she did, LOL!:D

Same thing happens to me in the preview. In the actual message, the smiley face shows up. Go figure.
