Hi there. I'm a mom in the Washington DC/Baltimore area with two little ones. I started playing around with Seti@home after reading yet another paranoid article about how if there are aliens are out there they will probably come and kill/eat us or something down those lines. I was amused and remembered how my dad used to always have seti@home running on his computers (yes, always a multi-computer household). So I set it going and took some nostalgic pleasure in watching the little rainbow of lines dance around rhythmically on the screen when the processes kicked in. I was secretly sure it would somehow blow up my laptop, but it didn't. And while I was setting all that up I decided to join SETI USA because, I guess I'm kind of a team player too. Cruncher Pete sent me a note and said I should probably join the forums and say hello. So I decided I'd avoid being a sneaky lurker and did just that. So hi all and happy number crunching!
