Hello Family,

Our friends over at Team Musketeers are in the Simap October 2011 Challenge. :-ss The challenge only runs for about a week. If you have a few spare cores to donate and give them a boost I'm sure they would appreciate it. =D> Remember, for your credits to count for them you need to quit our team and join Team Musketeers. :-bd

Thanks for your donations.

Mike.

For today I will add QuickSilver (Pentium M lappy) and Thor (P4). As my other boxes finish the PG challenge work and cannot complete more before the challenge deadline, I will switch them to SIMAP. Hope this helps.

I just switched one of my boxes over to SIMAP this morning when I couldn't get anymore Spin. I'll jump over to give the Musketeers a hand

Since it looks like Spinhendge is finished for awhile and there is not likely to be new WU's for for the foreseeable future, I'll give our Friends a hand at SIMAP for a few days.

Keep on crunching and have a nice day...

I put my quad 6600 on it.

Was going to hit Spin to start Q4. With that out of the question right now, I can certainly give some cpu's to the Musketeers

OK I threw one core on it. That's all I can spare right now, with the PG challenge. I have to do some thinking because we have the Spin 4th quarter challenge going on starting tomorrow. I'll probably support TeaM since they were there for us so much. b-)

Not a problem Foggle. I was thinking on similar lines. Having said that, it seems that "We were that close chief". No Work, No WU's left on Spinhendge and the project indicated that when the current Units run out they will not issue new ones for about three months. So it seems we have missed out on our target. We need to reorganize and pick another project for the Q4 RAID. In the meantime it is a good idea to help out our friends the Musketeers.

Keep on crunching and have a nice day...

Thanks for the help everyone ... it is truly appreciated!

We are actually starting to close the gap on LAF so with any luck we can at least make them work up a sweat. I think those boys may be bunkering because at the bottom of the top 100 list there are bunches and bunches of LAF boys who turned in several wu and then went dormant!

Thank you to our friends of Seti USA that are giving us a hand on this race. In spite of my little firepower I never bunker, And in the first begining they had some more points and that is over or at least diminished now.

The gap between Teams is not very big and is been very emotionally seing the 3 Teams always changing positions on the first three positions. At this moment we are in first for about 200 points. Yes it is time to count all "swords" and you as usual are Welcome.

A mixed blessing F$ ... if you had more cores then the PG Challenge wouldn't be happening now and Sici would be at the Simap challenge :))

Two questions:
When does this challenge end?

Does SIMAP have a forum for the challenge?

Edit: NM, I stopped being lazy and SEARCHED....

Mad Matt
10-03-11, 04:33 PM
The challenge ends in 3.5 days on 2011-10-07 10:00 GMT. But SIMAP just has 2 days work left, so we are now at the decisive point. So far no attack is visible, but you never know.

The 'forum' is BS: http://boincstats.com/bam/challengeChat.php?chid=147
Not sure I can recommend going there right now, we are leading by points, deleted posts and banned members. Hattrick, so to say. X_X:>:D

But it's been a party however. <:-P<:-P<:-P

To honour one of the biggest teams of Musketeers and friends we have ever seen, definitely the biggest one on a BOINCstats challenge, at least as far as I can remember. :)

Thanks boston617 and c303a it is not about points. You are all most welcome as usual. There is a lot of party yet. In fact this is about fun.

What really matters is having Simac work done in the End. If that Target is achieved we have already won. So as you can see we just cant lose... You are also doing your job at another race and all our work at Boinc is important. That is why it is such a pleasure to be here... Sharing ideas and feelings with so many friends.:D

Just a quick update on the rece. Sici has entered the challenge and is making gains. At least they were nice enough to give us a head start. :p A shout out and thank you to TeaM Musketeers for the extra stones your sending back our way while we engage in this challenge. \m/\m/

Matt and Duke you guys got it all wrong ... it is about points. It is about throwing up more points than LaFrogs :))

We really appreciate all the help that SUSA is giving us on this challenge. Without you guys helping we wouldn't have had a chance.

Speaking of them pesky LaFrogs, when I get my computers stable again I will kick some DirT your way. In 6 days we head south for the winter so I'm doing maintenance and gettting the machines ready for 6 months of remote operation.

Thanks Bryan, My head is getting bigger and bigger with that kind of praise and the truth is I enjoy it. It is nice to receive praise occasionally instead of being rubbished.

To tell you the truth, I can not keep this up ad infinitum because of the power cost. I tend to work in bursts of energy for awhile to maintain my and the Team's RAC. When there is a challenge that I think is worthwhile, I put all machines on and sometimes I even put more wood on the fire by overclocking if need be. This was one occasion for as far as I am is concerned it is a pay back time for all the points that you guys have given us from time to time, and not forgetting that as an old member, I still think of you all and will support you whenever I can. (Excluding One guy).

Keep on crunching and have a nice day...

Dude...look what happens when I go out of town and then timing belt breaks just as we're passing Fresno...took out the harmonic balancer and water pump with it, but could have been a lot worse. Anyway, I am just now catching up on things...

Do you need me to jump on anything or is it going to be over before I even start?

DrPop, alas I think you are too late. I can relate to you problems that you had and all I can say is to make sure that you in future buy a reliable car. The question here is what do we consider reliable? Is it a local manufacture, is it Japanese or the upcoming Chinese market. I leave it to decide if it was reliable whatever make it was and I presume I can safely emphasize WAS.=))

Timing belts come under the heading of preventive medicine. You are supposed to change them before they wear enough to break. Lucky you don't have a zero clearance piston engine or you could have taken out the pistons or maybe the entire engine.
Glad you are safe and back crunching. Hope you had a good time.
