I wonder if this would play nice in with my HD 5870 & 570? I only have a duel core processor and 4 meg of ram. I would prob. need to upgrade both?

I think my question would be what % of GTX 590 output will it have, at what % of the GTX 590 price? It looks promising if it's cheap enough, though - I mean, if it's better value.

Exactly.. I'd like to compare the price/performance of the 2x560TI vs the 590 and.

But here's one thing.. if u look at a STOCK 590 and break it down.. each GPU is about the same performance as a stock 560 (mostly because the 590 GPUs are way underclocked).... So I'd like to look at a lot of the tech specs of this new card... 2 560TIs should equal 1 590...

Hmmm...I think a 590 is two "under-clocked" 580 cores? In other words, with good cooling and O/C, I would expect a GTX 590 to blow one of these out of the water. But, the price ... all about the value... if these come in at a good deal, then maybe they're worth it for someone who wants better than a 580 but can't pony up for a 590.

560TI $249
Core Clock Speed: 822-850MHz
CUDA Cores: 384
Memory Clock Speed: 4008MHz (technically it's 1/2 this)
Memory Bandwidth: 128.27GB/sec
Shader Clock Speed: 1645-1700MHz

560TI 2Win $520
Core Clock Speed: 850MHz
CUDA Cores: 768
Memory Clock Speed: 4008MHz (technically it's 1/2 this)
Memory Bandwidth: 256.6GB/sec
Shader Clock Speed: 1700MHz

590 $699
Core Clock: 607Mhz
CUDA Cores: 1024
Memory Clock Speed: 3414MHz (technically it's 1/2 this)
Memory Bandwidth: 327.7GB/sec
Shader Clock Speed: 1215Mhz

OC the 590 up to the speeds of the 560s, and the 590 will BLOW that 560ti 2win out

520$ for the 2win. I guess that's reasonable.. you're paying a little more than 2 560TIs but in one slot.

so fo 1040$ you get 2x2 560TIs vs $1400 for 2 590s

you cant OC the 590 that far. its already super close to the hardware limitations of the power circuit on the board

OK, well a single 580 is nearly $500! So that makes this new card a deal, then. Our options of CUDA cards that are crunching "bang for thea buck" look like this:
Budget: find a GTX 460 (used) $100 on up
High Budget: GTX 560Ti ~$200
Mid range: GTX 570 ~$300-350?
High: This new GTX 560Ti Twin ~$520
Uber High: GTX 590 ~$700+

I added this to the Sticky. Thx

take in mind Real estate. My 590 WC'ed takes up 1 slot with room to spare.. I can easily load another card into my machine now. Having a bunch of lower end cards while might be cost effective on some level starts filling up machines and or needing machines to take them. any card thats 2 cards in 1 is always worth it.

You are absolutely correct, and I agree with this in theory. However, I have yet to get the Mrs. DrPop to sign off on a $700+ video card purchase as a "normal and usual expenditure for the family", and I do have a pretty understanding wife, as far as wives go. So...sometimes we just do what we can and manage to get by. :o
