This document (http://www.legitreviews.com/news/12111/) outlines Sapphire's plans to release non-reference versions of the 7970 that run up 1335MHz. That's about a 44% overclock out of the box, which would put this version at 5468 GFLOPS. Good stuff right there :D

Would this card out crunch two 5870? :-? If so then I wonder what I could get for two 5870? Can't wait for the first numbers on Moo for this card.

Likely, too good to be true. May as well wait for others to "test run" them first so all the bugs get worked out.

Holy Toledo, Batman! :D That is nuts. Yeah, wonder how well it will crunch - I read pages on that new hardware architecture at both Anandtech and Tom's and it seems to be much more engineered for compute crunching than the older VLI architecture was. This should be a GOOD thing competition wise for us crunchers -- if the new cards all perform like they should, of course! ;)

If the Stock Cards are going to cost about $550 expect to pay well over $600 for the ones like the Sapphire Atomic series HD 7970 to run at 1335 MHz type of cards, some may well run $700+ ...

think that's impressive, the stock 7970 on LN2 cooling has already been clocked to 1,700!

and hell, why not use LN2 on all 4 cards? :D

You will definitely have to post pics if you do that. [-O< I know a certain doc. and a guy from the Bronx that always wanted to go that route. :p
