This may seem like a strange request at first, but I would like to ask if anyone has one of these laying around before I go purchase one. I cannot say exactly what it is for just yet, because I do not want to get anyone's hopes up in the event the project does not pan out. However, you have my word that this is for a worthy cause for the team and BOINC in general.

We are in need of a small (read low power requirement) old GPU to be used in a Linux server. If my mobo had onboard graphics, even that would be good enough. As an example, I could get an NVIDIA 8400 or similar type card cheap off Newegg - looks like less than $20 shipped after rebate, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here in case a team member has an old GPU lying around collecting dust that he or she would like to donate to the cause.
Thank you for your consideration,
Pop

Well I have an old nVidia GeFource FX-5200 (PCI) I pulled from my Uncle's previous system but it needs a new 45mm fan (Link (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835119082))
Or you can have one of my 8800GTs.

Thanks for the offer, F$, that's very generous of you, though I think I will pass at the moment. I don't need any kind of card that can crunch. I was actually looking at some tiny ones with no fan at all! :o

LOL, the FX card can't crunch. Its a pre-Compute 1.0 era card. And it was running in my Uncle's old system for months with that dead fan. So you could even use one of those aluminum heatsinks jobbers with some heat transfer tape to keep it in place. Or I could just do that for you. No big deal and the card works fine.

Edit: Just realized I have a chipset HS in my spare parts box so I think I'll do the HS anyway, just in case.
