OK, I have been out of town for a few days and when I got home Boinc had suspended all tasks running on my linux boxes.

I am running Ubuntu 10.4 with boinc 6.10.58 on all three of these systems. All systems were running fine when I left and were still connecting to the internet when I got home but all tasks on all projects were suspended. They just said suspended also, not suspended by user and none of the projects were suspended on the projects tab.

Boinc would not restart the tasks no matter what I tried so I rebooted and now they are running. If this is a known bug please take it easy on me.:)

My WCG profile shut down all my systems while I was out of town:((

Wow.

1) Never heard of this before...not exactly a noob either.

2) WTF, it is still a default setting? That post was from over 3 YEARS ago! Boo!

Yes this was only on my linux boxes for some reason but they account for about 80% percent of my daily output so my house is pretty cold right now!

I made a custom profile on WCG to lower the resource share so the systems would pick up PG tasks and it really backfired on me.:(

The default was to idle after 20 minuets and I did not notice it.

Holy smokes! A default set to idle after 20min? What are they thinking? That's when most users' BOINC crunching really starts to kick in - say, after 20mins of idle! :p Although all of us have it running 24/7, of course. ;)

@BikerMatt - Is there somewhere you can report that bug, because they need to know about it and fix it for the next release!

I don't think it is a bug. I did some checking and one of the BOINC command line options is --check_all_logins and is defines as

(Unix) If 'run if user active' preference is off, check for input activity on all current logins; default is to check only local mouse/keyboard

This means it is an intended behavior that can be turned on or off. Somehow creating that custom WCG profile triggered or changed the state of the aforementioned command.

Edit: All BOINC config commands/options are listed here ---> http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration
