I just about have my new toy ready for prime time!
I built a system with the new i7 quadcore processor, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of HD space...
I also added a nice Blu-Ray burner.
I think I can crunch more numbers now... last time I checked, I was running 9 processes.

I've had a laptop with i7 for a year now. It's quite something even if not the full monty. No BluRay, but then I never used the bluray on my previous laptop. Contrats and I hope it races for you ;)

Cool computer. I didn't even know they made blu-ray burners yet. Welcome back to the boards. Have fun crunching!

What project(s) are you running? 9 Processes means you are only running a GPU workunit on top of the 8 cores for the CPU.
You should attach to FreeHAL and WuProp as well. They are non-cpu intensive and run alongside your primary workunits. So you would be running 11 processes at once ;).

I'm running FreeHAL and several projects from World Community Grid. I'll check into WuProp too. Thanks!

Another thing I forgot with FreeHAL is you can run one instance for every core you have. Depending on your RAM you could potentially run 8 instances there as well.

Unfortunately surveill isn't taking new accounts, neither is pirates (I've tried) :(

Hah! Idiots. Their front page says:
We are welcoming BOINC users who want to participate in our initial monitoring effort.

I wonder if my old account for pirates is still good... I ran that until they ran out of work...

Plenty, and then some, and enough left over to support love-making with the teammates mother of your choice.:D
