The main system, aka the "Silver Hammer":

Gigabyte 790XT Mobo.
AMD Phenom 1090T x6 processor
Win7x64
1000W Gold Rated PSU
8GB DDR3
Dual ATI 5970s (in Crossfire)
HAF 932 Case...

At stock speeds, it can put up ~920k/day on DNETC for this machine alone. And that is before overclocking. I'd be shocked if I couldn't get it well over 1M/day...

The predecessor to The Annihilatrix.

MSI K9A2 Platinum
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2 GHz
Windows Vista 64
Rosewell Xtreme 850W PSU
4GB DDR2
Dual ATI 5830s
Thermaltake Armor Plus MX Case

Ya ya, I know... the cables are a mess. Do you like how I solved my cooling problem? :)

I have an oscillating fan blowing into the entertainment center to keep the PS3s cool...

Yeppers. That ASRock board has a special AGI Express slot. AGI Express is their name for a PCI Express x16 physical slot with only x4 lanes. I didn't know that board existed when I procured the 8800s from Keith [SETI.USA]. While searching for dual PCI-E x16 boards I found a reference to that board. It took me a few days to actually find a vendor. Got it refurbished for a really low price which made me a happy camper.

I may do the same thing and drop my hd 4870. Sweet, another project. I'll work on that in Jan.

Cool. Glad to hear it. I like the board. Easy setup. I don't know if it plays well with Ubuntu/Linux though. Had to use XP 64bit (yuck) for my FTP and Torrent apps because I do not like what is out for Linux and Linux firewalls are a total pain to configure.

I hope you do a thread on the project. Crunch ON!

My coworker commented on the fact that I will not do much gaming on it with; "You just purchased something to search for god or his reasonable facsimile, yet you intend to play solitar on it?..." (in reference to the fact that I wouldn't be gaming on it...yet)

My response; "Look at those polygons on the cards!"

well not really it's a AMD II Quad 620 running stock with DDR 3 ram on a Asus mobo with an ATi Card in it, not sparkling fast but enough and it games pretty good too.
