Just to let you know.
On 5-24-2012 Dr Dan was involved in an auto accident. He was hit from the rear. He had been dismissed from the hospital later that evening. Last night he returned to the hospital with pain in the spine and head. He spent the night in the hospital and has been released again. He has an injury to his spine and is having some loss of feeling in his left leg. Due to the meds they have him on he will probably be away for a few more days. We will keep you informed as time goes on. Please keep DD in you paryers in the coming days.
PS I do not have any information on the persone that hit him. DD's van was totaled.

Dan is getting better, we think. He had to return to the hospital the day after the accident with pain in his head and loss of feeling in his left leg. The head pain is gone and the loss of feeling is due to a back injury. They think the back injury will be ok given some time. He has been druged up for a few days but is off most now. He is still having problems setting at the computer for very long so he hasn't been on much. Sounds like it may not be too bad, but one never knows with back injuries. Thanks for the thoughts.

I hope is he going to make a full recovery. I had a close relative who was hit from behind years ago. They spent several months in traction and have had back problems ever since. Hopefully Dr. Dan's newer car provided him a little better protection.

I missed this thread. Sorry to hear about Dr. Dan. Hope he makes a full recovery. Back injuries suck, I know first hand. Keep us up to date.

Totally missed this thread. I haven't been on the boards much lately with the baby taking up most of the time. I wish DD a good recovery.

I completely understand stupid people that are not paying attention and rear-ending your vehicle. I've been rear-ended 3 times while stopped (1st time on motorcycle lucky to be alive, 2nd and 3rd time in car). Not to mention the first accident in my current vehicle when the lady blew the red light but had some cut rate insurance that didn't want to pay. She admitted to blowing the red light since they didn't have a green arrow anymore and after going to court a jury of my peers found her not guilty.

Sry for the slight thread jack there, just noting that I understand how dumb people can be and not pay attention.
