It seems that GPU Grid does not like the latest release of Windows 8. I tried to run Grid on a quad core with Win 8 and and a GTX 460 and just got 13-17 seconds of run time and then they would error out. I am running Dist. without any problems.

Are you oced? Gpugrid never liked more than a 10% oc on my 570's. The upside...at least it didn't fail 10 hours in.

No. No oc'ing on this one and erroring out in 13-17 seconds was definitely a good thing. I was able to catch it and switch projects. I have a dual boot on this box and will go back into Ubuntu and see if I can learn some more about that "Greek" language they speak.

Ubuntu isn't Greek. It is an ancient African word meaning "I'm not smart enough to configure Debian." :p

Well, even with 2 books I still haven't got it to load Boinc. One of these days...... I will figure it out. Since I am retired and I keep the wife working part time I have the peace and quite to read the books and try to figure out what they mean.*-:)*-:)*-:):D:D:D

You could just skip the entire Ubuntu / Debian thing and go straight to Gentoo.

I haven't looked at that one. My problem is trying to keep up with my 10 year old grandson who has Ubuntu installed on his computer and says he is going to know more about it in 2 weeks than I do. I know it's a loseing prop. but I have to at least try.:mad::mad:
